The Grand Palace

We enjoyed the huge buffet most, with a very good range of food, fresh homemade dishes prepared by the chefs, and a big dessert section. The hotel has several restaurants as well. Service was excellent throughout, including the very high level of poolside service. Outside, the grounds are lovely, with several pools right by the beach. We visited in January and were told at least one pool was heated, but the water was quite cold. Our junior suite had everything we wanted, a huge bed, fridge, balcony, large bathroom and big TV. The shower could be improved. It’s definitely worth a visit, though by normal hotel ratings I’d call it four stars.

The swim-up room was lovely, with Wi-Fi and a few drinks included in the minibar. Ask for a sunny balcony. The pool is very cold. It was quiet and pleasant in February, though some areas look a little tired and improvement work is underway. The staff are happy and create a nice atmosphere. Food is okay with plenty of choice, but not up to five-star standard. The G&T is acceptable, and the wine just about does the job.

We had a wonderful holiday in Egypt and can highly recommend the hotel. Mahmoud looked after us so well at the restaurant In the Mexican throughout the week, with excellent service and such a friendly manner. We’d like to thank him again, and also Ahmed at reception. They’re both doing a great job.

The food was a highlight, with a huge range each day and everything delicious, so there was easily something for everyone. The property is beautiful, spotless throughout and very well maintained. Our rooms were comfortable, and the whole place felt relaxing and welcoming. Ahmed Mamdouh F.O at reception was especially kind, attentive and helpful, and made our vacation truly wonderful. Thanks also to the pool bar staff for their friendly, great service. We’ll definitely return and highly recommend the hotel!
