Luxor Guest House

We weren't actually staying at this guest house. After a long day travelling from Hurghada, we got to the wrong address and, confused, left our bag outside on the street. It had so many important things in it that we thought it was gone for good and were about to book a flight home. The owners spotted the bag on CCTV and tracked us down. They wouldn't accept a reward, payment or even a tip, no matter how much we tried. They also went out of their way to help us with what we needed in Luxor, including a taxi and a taxi boat, even though we weren't their guests. Amazing people. Looking forward to visiting Luxor again and hopefully staying at Luxor Guest House next time. ALI, you really saved us. Thank you 😀😀

Getting to the ferry for the east side took about five minutes on foot, and there are good value restaurants nearby that cost less than the ones on the east side. The room was spacious, with a king size bed, an electric kettle and two air conditioners, though we didn't need them in January. It was clean, with hot water in the shower, and had its own key for the room and the entrance. The photo is from the second floor, with another view taken 100m down by the river.

The people who run this Guest House really made our stay. They were so kind and helpful. The owner is very friendly and knows a lot, and speaks great English and German. The other staff speak great English too, and he probably speaks other languages as well. We stayed in a clean, spacious two bedroom flat and had a lovely time. The rooftop terrace has a beautiful view of the Nil, and there's a restaurant serving delicious fresh home cooked meals. I'd recommend it 100%!

The Nile is right across from the hostel, with lovely views and lovely hosts and staff. It was easy to reach from the east bank, and there's a pool table too. They can help arrange any tours you need. We had a great stay and will definitely come back! Enjoy 😉
