Getting to the other side of Luxor is easy, with the ferry just a four-minute walk away. It costs 5 EGP for Egyptians, though I’m not sure about non-residents. The guesthouse is near Hatshepsut Temple, rather than the Luxor and Karnak museums, and there are restaurants and local supermarkets nearby. I was incredibly happy with my stay and choice. The room was very clean and comfortable, almost more like a hotel room than a guesthouse. It had a TV, fridge, AC, and a spacious private bathroom with soap and toilet paper. Rooms are in separate apartments, and you can rent a whole apartment or just one room. Each room still has its own bathroom, so it feels private. The only shared space in an apartment is a couch and two chairs.

Mohamed took great care of us and paid attention to what we wanted to do on our trip. His recommendations suited us really well, and he even helped arrange transport to the sites and other cities. The place was lovely and in perfect condition every day we were there. It’s in the countryside, so it’s quiet and peaceful, and would work well for a family or group. Definitely recommended if you have some time in Luxor. I’ll come back.

The hotel itself was fine, with clean rooms and very friendly staff. But don’t book a taxi or tour through them. The driver they sent took us to an alabaster or stone factory and said the prices were the best, but they charged 20 times the usual prices. I’d avoid those factories with any other driver too, since all these alabaster factories are scammers.

Clean rooms, warm showers, friendly staff, and a great location. The price is low compared with nearby guesthouses of similar quality, so you won’t want to miss staying here in Luxor. Mr. Mohammed, the hotel manager, was a particularly great host.
