Pharaohs Hotel

It's rugged but quiet, right next to the valley of the kings, and the owner was very nice. Breakfast is free, but although I paid extra for a 5:30 AM breakfast, it wasn't made and the doors were locked, so I had to leave through the window. You can book online, but payment in person is cash only. There was no hot water in the room, though a cold shower is nice in this place.

The host's service was excellent, and we appreciated that they provided a knowledgeable, helpful guide. The guide shared useful information, but having them around constantly could feel a bit overwhelming, even if they meant well. The rooms had somewhat old furniture, and the food and breakfast fell short of what we expected. The hotel is a little way off the main road. Overall, our stay was satisfactory.

The location was the best part: all the main attractions are close by, yet the area is quiet, with astonishing views around it. My brother reefat was the most attentive and caring host I've met so far. He arranged transport and gave me great tips for getting the most out of Luxor. The staff were absolutely lovely and interesting, each with a story to tell. Probably one of my best stays in a long time. Highly recommended, and it won't be my last visit to my brother reefat!

For the location alone, this should cost three times as much, but it's currently the cheapest hotel in the area and excellent value. It's ideally placed for the west bank, between the temple of Habo and the tombs of the Nobles /Valley of Kings. Refat and the staff were attentive and made sure I was comfortable. You can hire bicycles to see the sights, most of them within a 2km radius. The rooms and facilities are simple, so if you're used to luxury or modcons, bring those expectations down, though the staff will provide anything extra you need. I'm excited to come back and see the rest of the city!
