Marina Beach Hotel

We offered to pay extra for a better room and tried to explain our concerns, but the staff were not helpful or focused on finding a solution. The food and drinks were disappointing too. Meals were repetitive and often lukewarm, and didn't feel hygienic. Cocktails tasted artificial and watered down, while even the soft drinks had a strange taste. The room was old, worn, and not properly cleaned. There was mold in several places in the bathroom, an unpleasant smell, uncomfortable-feeling bedding, and air conditioning that barely worked. Cleanliness across the resort was concerning, with neglected public areas, buildings, and facilities in serious need of renovation. It felt nothing like the 4-star image online, and the photos and descriptions seemed misleading and outdated. Our experience was so different from some of the positive reviews that it made us wonder how they were written. If it were advertised as a basic 1- or 2-star property, expectations would be different. This did not meet 4-star standards, and unfortunately we can't recommend Protels Crystal Beach Resort.

The resort itself gave us only good things to report. The young animation team was outstanding, and the activities they offered were great. We had some trouble with the travel agency that arranged the trip, but that wasn't a problem with the resort. I have celiac disease, and when I told the restaurant manager on the first day, they provided gluten-free bread and crepes. All the employees were very kind and helpful.

Autumn is beautiful here, and the reef is rich. The beach was clean, the grounds well maintained, and our room spotless. Everyone was friendly and tried to make us comfortable. We had a great vacation and are happy to be here. Many thanks to the hotel and especially to all the staff.

The pier at the beach was a lovely spot to swim among the fish. The animation team was very nice throughout our stay and put on a good evening program. We had a really nice experience here.
