We had a really enjoyable stay. The place was clean and well organized, and it feels like a nice, quiet getaway with the people you love. It seems much better suited to families than to younger travelers. One improvement would be shuttle buses to take guests or tenants into town.

Getting to the sea means going out from the property, and the rooms weren't clean. Service was very poor, especially the long wait in the check-in area. Even after I explained that I’d driven almost 8 hours and needed a rest, I still had to wait a long time.

The pools were a bright spot: the kids loved the water play area, and the lifeguards did a great job. But there are no services, cafeteria, or even a WC at the pool. Getting into the beach and qura park each requires a 200EGP voucher. The beach is rocky, so you can't really enter the sea and can only enjoy the view. I own a timeshare in Sokhna and decided to give Porto Matrouh a try. I was surprised by how unprofessional reception felt, how long check-in took, and how dirty the apartment was, with lots of insects.
