Semiramis Hotel Royal Palace

Really bad 😞. The rooms are old, the staff are very old, and there’s no air-conditioning.

The reception was nice and professional, but the rooms were very poor.

The staff are respectful, which was the best part of the place. It’s also close to Alexandria Street, lively areas and most of the beaches. The hotel itself is very old, and I don’t think it’s been renovated in many years. It has almost no amenities, and the few bedrooms all have side views. There’s a lot of noise from night until morning because it overlooks the Corniche, so it’s hard to find quiet. The rooms have no air-conditioning, and the bathrooms are very old, with rusty faucets. If you drive, parking is difficult. You may find a spot along the Corniche or on a side street, but you’ll probably have to wander around.

The best part is the first-row location. My side room overlooked the sea, and the view from the balcony was amazing, honestly worth 10 stars. I’d have preferred a front-facing sea view, but that room was already booked. As for the room, it’s basic, with a good mattress, a one-meter-wide bed, a clean floor and a decent bathroom. It also had a standing fan, a mini-fridge and an old TV. We didn’t even check whether the TV worked. It was a double room, but I could easily sleep there alone. There are no services provided, really, just a place to stay.
