JAZ Elite Amara Hotel

We had a great time at Jaz Amara and would gladly come back. The evening shows were excellent, and the activities were fun and well organized. Our room was roomy, comfortable, and extremely clean, with excellent daily housekeeping. The hotel itself is modern, attractive, and well maintained. There was plenty of fresh, tasty food to choose from each day, too.

The noise made it hard to rest throughout our stay at JAZ Amara. Construction at the neighboring hotel could be heard all day around the resort, including in our room, by the pool, and on the beach. At times it carried on into the evening and late at night, waking us even with the balcony doors shut. We asked to move and were given a room on the other side of the hotel, but the noise was still clear there. We also slept poorly because the connecting doors between rooms barely block sound, so ordinary conversations came through. Staff started moving tables and preparing breakfast around 6 a.m. When we asked about changing rooms again, the option offered was a nearly identical room with direct terrace access to the pool for an extra €150 per night, far too much for that difference. Food was the other major problem. As a vegetarian, I was hungry for most of the week because the choices were usually limited to salad or soup, with almost no proper protein. Staff sometimes tried to make something separately, but it was often bland, poorly prepared, and not enjoyable. At the Bayview à la carte restaurant by the beach, the mushroom risotto was plain white rice with raw mushrooms, and the vegetarian quesadilla was a tortilla filled with unseasoned mashed white beans. It was one of the worst meals I've had. When we tried to leave, the restaurant manager insisted on discussing why we did not want to eat it. The same thing happened later at the buffet. Service at the pool was weak as well. Staff seldom checked on us, and we got drinks only twice during the whole day. At the neighboring JAZ Riviera, which costs roughly the same, we saw much better service and facilities. My girlfriend and I left very disappointed and won't return. I can't understand the hotel's nearly 4.9-star ratings on Google and Tripadvisor. We paid more than we had for an ultra all-inclusive week in Rhodes last year, and that was a completely different level. I strongly advise vegetarians to avoid this hotel.

The location was the one drawback for me. Jaz Elite Amara is peaceful and lovely, but getting to nearby attractions or the city center isn't especially convenient, and you'll sometimes need transport. The rooms, though, were spacious, modern, comfortable, and spotless, with cozy, elegant decor, very comfortable beds, and nice amenities. Housekeeping kept them in great shape. Service was a real strength. From arrival through checkout, staff were friendly, attentive, and professional. They handled requests quickly and with a genuine smile, making everything easy. If you're looking for comfortable rooms and strong hospitality, the quality of the stay makes up for the less convenient location.

The sea was beautiful and clean, and the food had both great variety and high quality. The drinks were delicious, too. Staff were professional, attentive, and friendly, and the atmosphere made for a really relaxing holiday. We enjoyed every moment and would love to return. Highly recommended!
