Hauza Beach Resort

We got far more than I expected for what we paid. When we booked, the price was very low, around 3-4 star rates. The room and view were beautiful, there was food all day, a 24-hour bar, animation staff, a kids club every night, plus pizza and drinks at the beach bar. Some people expect a lot for their money, but for us, it was beyond what we paid for. The food was all edible; sometimes it was lukewarm, but you wouldn't go hungry. Bread was freshly baked on site, there was as much drink as you wanted, and even the wine was nice, and I'm fussy. Hauza has the best beach in Sharm. We love it here and went in February 2015 for our seventh or eighth visit. It was hot, and the room and staff were lovely. Can't wait to come back. The guest relations lady is the best yet. I spent five days at Hauza Beach Resort and came back with a very bad impression. The website says 5 stars, but I think it should be 3. The food was very bad. There was no sauna, jacuzzi, health club, masseur, mini zoo, hot swimming pool, nightclub, or disco, despite what I expected from the information. The pool was freezing, and so was the sea. There were mosquitoes in the room, and there were no heaters or reliable hot water. Hot water came through the solar system, so you got it only during the day when there was sun. The drinks were all local and gave me a headache. I don't know why they allow incorrect information to be posted and mislead people.

I don't usually write reviews, but this was the worst experience. There were insects in the room when we arrived. Staff stepped on them, then sprayed insecticide and left them there. The food was terrible, and we were all ill for a few days. Staff seemed more interested in selling us things all day than helping. It was awful and put us off Sharm. Never again.

The beach was good for snorkeling, and that was the only positive for us. Service in the restaurant and reception was unbelievably poor. One day, half the hotel got sick. I'm serious, and if you've already booked, don't go on Chinese night. If you're heading to Sharm, I'd choose one of the hotel chains instead. You can find snorkeling like that at any beachside hotel there.
