Lido Sharm Hotel Naama Bay

The staff were wonderful, the hotel was clean, the pool was heated, and the location was beautiful. It’s a pity the manager doesn’t take responsibility for making the stay pleasant for all guests. The themed evenings felt made just for Russian guests, with music only in their language, which only they and some of the staff understood. I learned their songs in a week. Some nights my family and I left the lobby to get away from the Russian-only music. I want to be clear, I had no problem with Russian people, who were actually very nice. But if you’re looking for Egyptian traditions, music, culture, and an oriental atmosphere, don’t choose LIDO. From my family’s and my point of view, the hotel might as well have its name in their language and be dedicated to them. Food was terrible, undercooked, and limited in variety. They often served leftovers from the previous meal. The alcohol was low quality and options basic. There were several evenings in a row without white wine, for example. If you weren’t near the front of the food line, you could wait another 20 minutes for fries, which we saw only about twice during our seven-night stay. I don’t know why the rating is so high, maybe it’s because of the staff.

We were never short of things to do at Lido. There was yoga, sports, animation shows, and activities for kids, so it worked for couples and families. The souks, restaurants, and bars were just a two-minute walk away, which made exploring Sharm easy. We spent our honeymoon there, and the staff made us feel welcome and special from the moment we arrived. They were polite, attentive, and always ready to help with a smile. The hotel was spotless, with a lovely pool and breathtaking beach views that made for a romantic setting. The buffet had a wide selection and the food was good compared with other places in Sharm. Our room was clean and comfortable, and room service took good care of it. Lido added a lot of charm to our honeymoon, and we’d love to come back.

Halfway through our ten-day stay, we started heading into Sharm to find a bar where we could talk and hear each other. The dance floor here was always empty, but the music was bad techno remixes at full volume. The guests were 35+, and the entertainment team, Bee Entertainment, seemed to have no idea how to read the room. They spent more time on Instagram than with clients and were rude and obnoxious. Complaints were ignored, while the regular staff seemed helpless to do anything. The two girls were simply clueless. Any discussion ended with “this is what we want” and a vacant look. Peak entitlement. I’d rather pay more to stay somewhere I can enjoy being with my friends. In the first picture, a guy is telling us it’s a party in an empty room.

The food was the worst part: stale, cold, and tasting like leftovers from days ago. The rooms were dirty, the bathrooms gross, and bugs were crawling around. Cleanliness seemed nonexistent. The hotel’s location is the only thing keeping it going, and it doesn’t make up for the rest. It takes more than ten minutes in the burning sun to reach the main road, and finding a taxi is difficult. Most drivers won’t come in because the area is set up for hotel shuttles, not regular taxis. Lido Hotel was one of the worst places I’ve stayed, a complete waste of money that doesn’t deserve a single star. Save yourself the regret.
