The rooftop has a lovely view of the town square, and the Siwi people are nice and very polite. The location is convenient, but Siwa isn’t as quiet as it used to be, and street noise in the town center will wake you every day. This might suit someone on a very low budget who’s used to Cairo’s cacophony and wants shops nearby, but I don’t think I’ll return. I would recommend it to travelers who fit those criteria. There were no hangers in the closet, just heavy blankets, so I think it would be better to remove it. The hotel has potential to be full of guests, but the managers don’t seem to understand the basics of keeping them happy. The staff were polite, but unprofessional and often absent. I arrived in Siwa at 9:30 am on a Friday to find the hotel dusty and empty, with no one at reception. I called, and the young man told me to take the room key from the counter. The room was extremely dusty and dirty, and the AC was broken. I complained and changed rooms, but the second one was just as dirty and dusty. I asked for the room to be cleaned and the bed sheets changed. There was no toilet paper or soap in the bathroom. When I asked for them, he said he’d get money from the owner to buy toiletries once the owner arrived. After two or three reminders, we finally got one very small roll of toilet paper for two adults. I also asked for internet and was told it seemed the bill hadn’t been paid. I reminded him, but there was still no internet. The entrance was dusty and dirty too, and nobody was on duty to welcome guests or answer questions. One night, I woke to very loud voices from a fight. The male guests in the next room were fighting and smoking. I didn’t bother complaining because neither the owner nor the worker was there to quiet them down. I was really mad and didn’t get enough sleep that day. On our last day, I finally found the owner and worker cleaning the entrance and stairs. I wish they’d done it before we arrived.

Good value for the money, with enough comfort after a long day on safari. Mina and the other staff were helpful.

A basic, very cheap hotel right beside the shops and restaurant. I wouldn’t recommend it to foreigners.
