Hotel Bruselas

I’ve just finished my third Camino, Portugués, Finisterre and Muxia, and stayed a night at your albergue along the way. Thanks for all you do to make guests feel welcome and comfortable. I enjoyed my stay. 🙏🏻

Right on the Camino route, with two supermarkets nearby, and the price was very reasonable, actually cheap for me since I booked early. It’s a family-run place, and the owners were really kind. When it was pouring rain, they offered me a raincoat for my Camino. Even the single room was clean and very spacious. If I could give them six stars, I would. I can’t recommend them enough. Thank you so much for being welcoming and kind, and I hope the business keeps growing.

The rooms were basic but clean and comfortable, and I’d definitely return. Sara, the owner, was very accommodating during my six-night stay. Even when I woke up late, she was always there to prepare breakfast.

We stayed one night at Hotel Bruselas while doing our camino de Santiago, and I wouldn’t recommend it. The hotel is old. The rooms look recently renovated, but the mattresses don’t. Ours looked old and sagged in the middle. The bathroom hadn’t been properly cleaned, specifically, there was poo from previous guests on the toilet. We were shocked and called reception straight away. Our things were still unpacked, so we were ready to move rooms. The hotel offered to clean it, but there was no cleaning staff left at that hour, so the owner came herself. In front of us, she cleaned it very superficially with a small tissue and hygiene spray. At breakfast the next day, the same woman, the owner, spoke indirectly to us, saying pilgrims nowadays are very demanding and weren’t like that in the old days. Breakfast is best avoided. There’s no buffet, just juice, coffee, and a choice of toast, cake (bizcocho), or a croissant.
