The course was in great shape, and the staff were friendly with good service. The small, challenging greens make your irons and wedges really important. There are 6 par 3s, most with low SI, and they're pretty tough! We used a local rule to take a drop out of the volcanic sand. Definitely do that, as it saves your clubs from getting trashed. We'd certainly go back!
This is probably one of my favourite golf clubs. I played it about 25 years ago and enjoyed it then. It's even better now. I highly recommend visiting, you won't regret it.
The wide links courses are a treat to look at, but the fun faded once we got onto the greens. The fairways had a nice bounce, partly because the heat had left them corkdry. The greens were even more dry, and the ball took very unpredictable paths. The marchal and the other personal we met were very friendly and helpful. Around hole 11, we were offered drinks for sale, which is always a nice touch. We had fun, all in all, but I wouldn't go again.
