Casa Rural El Cura

We really liked the house. It has two bedrooms, one with a queen-size bed and the other with two queen-size beds, plus a pretty, well-kept garden. The mattresses were replaced in July 2022, after lots of people had complained about them. Fran from Tourism and Local Development kindly arranged the replacement. I’d suggest adding a toaster, though I’ve edited this review to say they brought us one!

Casa del Cura was a real delight, and we truly hope to return someday. Aguimes is a charming little town, and the people who handle the rental and look after the garden are so kind and friendly. The authentic, spacious, comfortable home is arranged around a beautifully planted and well-kept patio, where we could enjoy lunch and dinner in peace.

In February it was quite chilly, with the wind whistling through the whole house, and the heating is only rudimentary. The rooms aren’t connected to one another, so you have to cross the private courtyard to get to the bathroom and bedroom. It’s rather dark and cramped, though the historic setting certainly has its charm. I imagine it must be very nice in summer.

My favorite place to stay in Agüimes. I’ve stayed here before and will keep coming back.
