The house was lovely and well kept, fitting in beautifully with the natural setting. It was so quiet that I slept soundly without being disturbed, and the mountain location on La Gomera is peaceful, with stunning views and nature all around. I loved being able to disconnect there. It was very cold inside, especially at night. We found blankets, but they weren’t enough. I wish we’d been told ahead of time so we could bring hot water bottles, or that the accommodation had some for guests. That would make a real difference. We visited in February or March, so be prepared for the chill in those months. Even so, I’d love to come back for the setting and atmosphere.

We’d happily return, and for longer next time. Mirador de Abrante, one of the island’s main attractions, is within walking distance. The nearest minimarket is in Agulo, about a 20-minute drive away, so bring what you need for the first day if you don’t want to spend much of your stay shopping. We bought supplies in S.S. from Gomera at the Tu Trebol supermarket before checking in. The place is remote and quiet, surrounded by nature and the other houses in the complex, but it’s easy to reach from the main road. The house had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The wood-burning stove was a real bonus and changed the atmosphere completely when lit. The hosts supplied firewood at no extra cost, and there was plenty of parking.

The nature around the casas rurales is amazing, but getting there on the road was a nightmare.

The stars at night were incredible, and the nature and views are gorgeous. We visited in January 2019. Be ready to use the chimney or heating.

The house is lovely and peaceful, tucked in a perfect spot down in the Agulo ravine. If you’re after somewhere pretty isolated to rest, this place is a good fit. The manager’s attention to detail was excellent. I’ll definitely be back!
