AC Hotel Alcala de Henares by Marriott

Our room was roomy and more than enough for our stay. The whole place was clean and looked well cared for, and the staff were quick, friendly, and professional.

It was cold, and we had two kids with us. The woman at reception was really rude, refused to help us, and made us leave.

The restaurant food was good, and the small gym was enough for a workout. It's a decent place for a short trip, though the train and main center are a 30 to 45 minute walk away.

On my second stay, I again had trouble getting the room cool enough to sleep. Leaving the window open did cool it down nicely. The first time, the hotel had switched off the building AC over the weekend, even though it wasn't as cool outside as expected. I wish they'd warned me. The view wasn't much to look at, especially at night. The room felt smaller than what I'm used to in the US, though that seems normal for the area. Staff were friendly and helped us out when we came back after the hotel bar had closed. I liked that the key slot was lit so it was easy to find. It'd be better if the lights came on briefly before inserting the key and stayed on a little after taking it out. The hallway lights also seemed to switch off too quickly. Breakfast was nice, with fresh cheese and meat.
