I got sick on our last day, and the hotel kindly let me keep the room past checkout at no charge. I can’t thank them enough for that. It’s a new hotel in a lovely neighborhood, around a 20-minute walk from the main center. Breakfast is modest, but just right before a day of eating your way around Madrid.

The room was clean and the location was amazing, but I was surprised there was no coffee in the room. I’ve never stayed somewhere that didn’t include it. We had to go downstairs to the lobby for coffee, and they charged us.

Nuria is an unbelievable receptionist, and the service from the rest of the staff was good as well. She deserves a promotion as soon as possible. Thanks to Pax for the service. I’d always come back here.

Breakfast was the one real letdown. We were told we didn’t need to book, but there were no free tables when we arrived. The young man serving didn’t clear tables promptly, and guests were left eating among other people’s dirty dishes. When things ran out on the buffet, he didn’t refill them. The receptionist stepped in, while he moved at a snail’s pace and seemed uninterested and untrained. That needs serious attention. The rest of the stay suited us really well, and we’ll be back. The area was calm and quiet, with nice bars and coffee shops, and we could walk to the train station, metro, and plenty of great vegan food. Carmen at reception was helpful and informative. Our room was clean, comfortable, and well appointed. We liked having a kettle instead of a coffee machine.
