A cheap overnight stay in Madrid's northern area, with a train to the airport.

The rooms are roomy, clean and well equipped, and the service is good. Prices felt a bit high, especially for the extras. You're better off sticking to what you've booked. Parking and a quick breakfast are available if you need them, but they're add-ons and the value for what you get is poor.

I'm not going back, and I won't recommend this place to anyone. I stayed last year and had planned to return this year, but now I'll suggest somewhere else to everyone I know. I booked a single room in January, then called five days before arriving to say someone else would be coming in my place. That's when I was told there was no reservation at all. What if I hadn't called? Would I have ended up in the cleaning closet? Later they called and said someone must have cancelled it. Excuse me, there are only two of us, my husband and me, and neither made that call. Maybe it was the Holy Spirit, what with all the Easter talk.
