NH Alcorcón

We were disappointed. The location is great and the rooms were okay, but there isn't a bar. Instead, there's a self-service setup where you can pick up a small bottle of beer or wine and pay at reception. We brought two small dogs. The receptionist knew about them and said a dog bed had been put in one room, but there wasn't one. No one mentioned an extra fee at check-in. Later, when we were paying for a couple of drinks, the receptionist on duty asked if we wanted to settle the €100 dog bill. I understand that hotels often charge for pets, but I think we should have been told the cost when we arrived, and €100 feels disproportionate compared with what I've paid at other hotels in Madrid. Parking was free on our first day in the outside lot. When we came back the next day there were no spaces, so we had to use the underground car park and were charged €10.

The rooms felt a little too warm for me, and turning off the thermostat didn't cool mine down. Opening the windows helped, though. The hotel is handy for what you might need and sits just off the interstate. A great place to stay.

I'd recommend it for a business trip. The staff were friendly and keen to help with anything. The hotel is close to the highway, so whether the location works depends on what you need. It's noisy from the traffic, so look elsewhere if you want a peaceful neighborhood. For quick taxi access into the city, it's fine. My room was okay, though it had a bit of a smell.

I've stayed here several times, so they know my profile, yet they couldn't offer me a room with a queen or king-sized bed. Just poor customer service. I'd give zero stars if that were possible.
