Eix Alcudia Hotel - Adults Only

The location was great, with a huge free car park across the road for my rental. The breakfast buffet was excellent, and the evening buffet was decent too. Staff were lovely and helpful, and there was a great bike garage with tools, a shower and a compressor. My only small gripe was the room safe, which cost 15€/week. I've always had a free room safe at other hotels. Still, it was a great stay and I'll probably come back next time.

We paid for breakfast and didn't get it. The morning before we left, we asked for breakfast in a bag because we were leaving at 5.30 AM. We were told it was no problem and that sandwiches would be brought to our room that evening. By 23.00 there was still nothing. Reception blamed a colleague for not arranging it, then said she couldn't help because they had nothing and it wasn't her mistake. The night shift woman on 13th to 14th of may was terribly rude. How can a big hotel have nothing at 23.00 or 05.00? Not even fruit, bread with cheese or meat, a candybar, or a bottle of water. Nooooo, nothing. Nada. At checkout I still had to pay the 5,20 we spent on drinks by the pool. I even asked if they could waive it as a small apology for the missing breakfast, but they wouldn't. NEVER going back to these rude cheapskates.

The first room we were given had such a musty, possibly moldy smell that it spread to our clothes within two days. Even after we asked to move, the hotel delayed changing rooms during the day. Once we finally moved, the smell took a few more days to leave our clothes. It's shocking and shameful that paying guests are given a room like that. The pictures show the problem clearly. The hotel itself is old and feels a bit slapdash. The walls seem paper thin, so we could hear noise from outside and from the neighboring rooms. The breakfast, though, was very comprehensive, with something for everyone. The location was good too, a short walk from the beach and shops, with a big public parking area next door for people arriving by car. I might have given three stars for that, but the room we got first decided it for me.

The staff really make this hotel. Everyone was friendly and helpful, and I can't single anyone out because they all went above and beyond. The rooms are basic, but very clean and comfortable. Food was excellent, fresh and well prepared, with the menu changing often and plenty of choice. My partner is vegetarian and was very pleased. The bar staff were kind and helpful, and the waiting staff were fabulous, fast and efficient.
