***Vacation Studio Apartment at SIESTA resort***

We stayed recently and enjoyed it. The rooms were clean, and the staff were polite and helpful. I never saw anyone clean the pool or check its chemical levels, like chlorine or pH. My son got sick and developed a rash, which led to an A&E visit once we were home.

The views were incredible and the location quiet, maybe a bit too quiet. But our room smelled, and I was really disappointed that there were no duvets on the beds or anywhere in the room. We arrived exhausted at 3 a.m. and didn’t have the energy to go looking for them, so I spent the first night shivering and my first day was really spoiled. Check-in took nearly an hour. Some reception staff were rude and unhelpful, and I was always having to chase the cleaners to top things up. I would have given it five stars otherwise.

We booked a two-person studio with a balcony in mid-October and were put on the fifth floor. Bugs were running around the room as soon as we arrived, so we told reception right away. The hotel was fully booked, and all they could give us was bug repellent. We had to get through the night with bugs crawling in the kitchen and even in the sheets, which was really uncomfortable. We were told the recent weather caused the problem because October is the rainy season in Mallorca. The next morning they moved us to a sixth-floor room of the same standard, and the bug issue was resolved. Rooms are cleaned every two days. The building has a restaurant serving breakfast, dinner and drinks. We didn’t try dinner or drinks, so can’t comment on them, but breakfast was really good and reasonably priced compared with nearby places: 6 euros for a full English breakfast, where it’s usually 8-9 elsewhere. The coffee was terrible. Our stay was pleasant overall and good value for money. Reception staff spoke perfect English, and the restaurant staff spoke it well enough.

The rooms are clean and perfectly decent, and the staff are so friendly, always greeting you with a smile. Siesta 1 is good value for money, especially for a young family wanting a bit of downtime in Mallorca. It isn't luxurious, and the resort itself is clearly built around tourism, with a strip of chain restaurants and bars, but the price feels fair for what you get.
