We made the most of the pool and grill during our peaceful stay at this country house. It had all the amenities, and with four couples and several children, having an en-suite bathroom in every bedroom was especially handy. The scenery is spectacular, and Guadalupe is very close. Thanks to the owners for everything. We’ll be back next year!
The house is right in the heart of the Villuercas mountains, and we spent most of the weekend outside. A short walk through the narrow gorge of La Peña is worth doing, which is also where the house gets its name. The owners gave us wonderful service, and the setting feels completely isolated, so you have plenty of freedom there. We came with friends and needed enough rooms for everyone, plus a pool. The house pleasantly surprised us: the rooms were spacious, each with its own shower bathroom, which gave everyone privacy. The kitchen was fantastic for a large group, with its industrial style, vertical freezer, and dishwasher. Everything was notably clean. The pool is small but enough for a dip, and the roomy porch had space for several long tables, with two folding tables and lots of chairs provided.
The only reason I’m giving it four stars is that some of the mattresses were a bit uncomfortable and could be improved. Otherwise, it was a ten out of ten. We were a big group of friends, and the house worked really well for us. There were lots of bedrooms with their own bathrooms, plus a huge kitchen and living room, so there was room for everyone. The owners were incredibly welcoming, and the location had wonderful views and hiking trails nearby. The pool wasn’t huge, but it was just right for what we needed.
Twelve of us stayed there the weekend of November 26th. The house is hard to describe, so go see it for yourself, and the hosts are even better than the spectacular location. We’ll be back! Thank you, Marisol, Lorenzo, and their families, for letting us enjoy your lovely home. Hugs, Álvaro Horcajo.
We spent the day there with friends and had a fantastic time. The owners are lovely, and the house was spotless. It’s such a peaceful place to unwind, whether watching the sunset from the infinity pool or having drinks on the front porch in the evening. From the upstairs terrace, there are wonderful views of the rocky area and its rather unique cave. A great rural escape with family or friends. We’ll definitely come back.
