Apartamentos Globus by Be Alicante

Restaurants downstairs stay busy late into the night, and street-cleaning machines make noise early in the morning. We knew from other reviews that it could be noisy, so it’s something to weigh up. The apartment also felt a little dark since the windows look straight across a narrow street and we had to keep the curtains closed. The TV only had a few Spanish channels, so it wasn’t useful unless you speak Spanish. The location was a big plus, right in the old town, with lots of restaurants nearby and just a seven-minute walk to the beach. Mini markets were only two minutes away, and we felt safe even on the very narrow street leading to the apartment. There were two rooms, a bedroom and a living room, with enough space to relax. The bathroom was bright and nice, and the apartment was very clean. The kitchen had cutlery, plates, pots, cups, a microwave, sandwich toaster, and Tassimo coffee machine. Two capsules were provided on arrival, then we had to buy more. The air conditioning worked very well. We stayed nine nights and had cleaning on a Monday and again on the Sunday just before leaving. The bathroom only had towels, toilet paper, and two small bars of soap. There was also a very old washing machine on the sixth-floor terrace, outside the apartment. Reception lent us a beach umbrella, which was lovely because two sunbeds and an umbrella on the beach cost an unbelievable 27 euros.
