Apartamentos Gran Notch

The apartment was clean and close to central Alicante.

We booked three apartments, and none of the beds were very good. In the first one, the water heater failed, so we went the whole weekend without hot water. The host apparently said cold showers were what you had to put up with at that time of year. The shower was also broken and filthy. The second apartment was dirty and had several cockroaches. In the third, the microwave didn’t work. There was no solution offered.

The location worked really well: it’s about a 20-minute walk to the center, five minutes to a bus stop, and only three minutes from the supermarket. There’s also a well-stocked larger supermarket around 400 metres away, plus smaller food shops nearby. We shared the place with friends and found the welcome and service excellent. The person who greeted us was kind, courteous, and attentive to our questions and needs. The apartment was clean and had the essentials, and everything worked. The hairdryer and iron could do with replacing. We also appreciated the outdoor shower opening onto the ground-floor veranda, which came in very handy. They could provide more towels, though.

The apartment looked very old, with only a partial facelift. There were cockroaches, the bathrooms were extremely dirty, and there was food in the kitchen, even on the walls. The cleanliness was basically nonexistent.
