The owner welcomed us warmly for an incredible Christmas lunch, with fresh, homemade food, just as you can see in the pictures. She was flexible and made a special vegetarian meal for me, checked in a few times, and made sure we were comfortable. The whole experience was amazing. We found the road to the house easily by following Google Maps, so I’m surprised so many reviews say it’s hard to find. It’s a bit uneven, but no problem if you drive slowly. At the split in the road, follow the small sign for La Creu and you’ll get there.

The owner made every effort to make us feel at home and shared tips about local tourism and food. It’s peaceful here, and the food is excellent. The suite feels spacious and welcoming as soon as you walk in, with a huge window for taking in the scenery and a really spacious bathroom. The setting is green and quiet, yet close to town. You can park right outside and see your car from the room. I hope we can come back.

The house is large, with spacious rooms and beautiful surroundings, but our weekend stay was ruined by a basic, unacceptable problem: no hot water and no heating. Eighteen people from one family, ages 3 to 85, were there, and while some rooms had a heat pump, the rest didn’t. It was freezing in Teruel in mid-March, and the house was cold because the heating wasn’t working. The bedrooms were very cold, and the shower water was only lukewarm, nowhere near enough for a normal shower, especially for a 3-year-old. We reported it and were told a technician would be called, but nothing changed during our stay. If the technician came, they didn’t fix it. We had no heating or hot water for the entire weekend. The owner brought us croissants and a bottle of wine to apologize. We appreciated the gesture, but it doesn’t make up for renting a house in those conditions. A place without heating or hot water shouldn’t be rented in March in Teruel. We left feeling the problem was already there before we arrived and that there was no real intention to fix it while we were staying. The final impression was that we’d been taken for a ride.

Julián and Isabel were incredibly attentive and dedicated, and the varied menu was especially delicious. The renovated building feels welcoming, with fantastic grounds, easy parking, and great access by car. It’s just 5 minutes from Valderrobles, but feels like being deep in the forest. A wonderful gift that let me savor every minute.

The service was very good, and breakfast was generous. This lovely rural farmhouse is in a beautiful countryside setting next to Vall-de-roures. The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable.
