VIL5 by Be Alicante

The hotel is right by museums and famous landmarks, and the airport bus stop is only a 6-minute walk away. We could walk everywhere and rarely needed transport. I stayed with a friend for around one week. There's a mini fridge, kettle, and a few complimentary teas and coffees, but not many other amenities. Unfortunately, the rooftop terrace wasn't open while we were there. Our room sometimes smelled a bit musty, and the walls were quite thin, so you can hear neighbors easily. We were there in mid January, and the street outside our room was only a bit noticeable on the weekend. I imagine it might get pretty loud during peak tourist season.

The price was fair, and the gorgeous room had a giant terrace overlooking the Santa Maria Basilica. My only downside: please provide complimentary bottles of water.

The rooms are compact but well equipped, and they're cleaned to a high standard every day. The staff are nice and helpful, and breakfast is okay with plenty of food. You can use the rooftop to sit and bring your own drinks from 11am until sunset. It overlooks the castle and church, but it's closed for renovation and wasn't open as a breakfast seating area. The outside area at the back is open. It would be 5* if the rooftop were open for breakfast.

The location was great, and the hotel was fine, nothing fancy, but perfect for what we needed.
