Old City Center (Happy Alicante)

The location put me right in the middle of Alicante, among historic little streets and colorful houses, with sights, shops, bars, restaurants and the beach all close by. I was welcomed warmly, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout. The apartment was spotless and thoughtfully equipped, including a full kitchen and washing machine. The large bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was lovely and clean, with both soft and bright lighting. Everything was stylish and cozy, from the interesting decor to the romantic lighting. I also enjoyed the small balcony and its impressive view, and the larger inner terrace gave me a private place for breakfast or to relax under the stars in the evening. I felt very at home and would gladly stay here again when I return to Alicante.

You can really feel the city’s atmosphere in this lovely apartment in the heart of the old town. It’s close to restaurants and bars, as well as the beach and castle. Such a great location, and a nice, private place if you want somewhere central. I really recommend it.

We were exhausted and stressed for most of our anniversary trip because of the noise and the trouble trying to reach an agreement with the host. He was unhelpful and quite rude, and wouldn’t refund the final two nights so we could leave. The bed also wasn’t very comfortable, and our backs hurt a lot after three nights. There was a draught under the balcony door into the living room too. The main problem, though, was the nightclub directly below: loud music boomed until 4am, the bed vibrated, and the other bars on the street kept people making noise until around 5am. The listing didn’t make the severity clear, and the cheap earplugs left by the host were useless. He said he’d mentioned the noise in a booking message, but it was nothing like being three floors above a nightclub toilet. Avoid on weekends. I wouldn’t stay again.

Right in the old town, this lovely apartment is well placed for the beach, castle, restaurants and bars.
