Hotel Sercotel Maya Alicante

We were glad we chose Sercotel Maya Alicante. We booked directly through the hotel’s website after finding it on comparison sites, which got us a better deal. It was a last-minute change of plans after we’d already arrived, so we hadn’t had time to research much. Our room was spacious and clean, with fresh toiletries already provided, and we didn’t need to ask for anything. We got there just before noon, and since the room had been cleaned, they kindly let us check in early. We mainly wanted a good base for exploring the castle, and the trailhead was about a five-minute walk away. There’s also a nearby tram station, the beach is easy to walk to, and a large shopping centre isn’t far away. There’s a lovely pizza place just down the road too.

The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the bathroom even has a bathtub and bidet. There’s free Wi-Fi, and the staff are friendly and very helpful. It’s also close to popular tourist attractions. I’d highly recommend staying here.

My son and I stayed at the Sercotel Maya hotel for four nights over Christmas 2025. I booked a fairly cheap Jet2holidays package and wasn’t expecting much, but I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel was immaculate, our room spotless, and the bath and shower were extremely good. Each morning the smiling chamber maid tidied the room so well that everything felt fresh again. On Christmas Day we ate breakfast at the hotel. The staff were polite and helpful, and there was a big selection of excellent food. My son especially loved the bacon and said he’d never had bacon that good, as he’s used to the tough English variant! The staff throughout were courteous and polite. I have no hesitation giving it 10/10 as an ideal family hotel in Alicante. We’ll definitely return in summer so we can use the swimming pool.

The food was good, with plenty of vegan choices at dinner. Breakfast had fewer options, though there was lots of fruit and toast, which was great. The reception team were welcoming and professional, and the catering and room staff were cheerful and friendly. The hotel was clean, and the bedroom was so comfortable I didn’t want to get out of bed! Great value for money, and we’d stay again.
