Ruleta Playa Almeria

The breakfast was very good, including oysters and cava, though you have to order fried or scrambled eggs. But I'm unhappy that nobody fixed the ceiling fan or got the air conditioning to blow cool air. For a hotel that claims to be four stars, that's disappointing. If I stay here again, I'll avoid a sea-facing room. I stayed for three nights in February 2026 in a room with a sea view. The morning sun came through the windows so intensely that the air conditioning couldn't cool the room. The receptionist kept a straight face while telling me it was blowing warm air rather than cool, which I took to mean it wasn't working. I also reported that the ceiling fan was broken so it could be repaired, but nobody came before I left.

The balcony had a lovely view, and the bed was really comfortable. Everything else was super clean, though one wall had quite a few dirt marks, so it seemed like the grand hotel had been renovated only partly. The location is great for reaching the nightlife, restaurants and historic sights on foot, and breakfast had plenty of choice. I’m less sure about the pool area: it sits just a few metres above a busy street, so there’s a lot of traffic noise.

We had a lovely stay and would come back to both the hotel and Almeria. The room was great, with a balcony, though I thought it could use more decoration and a wall mirror. It was modern, clean and in a great location. The pool is small, but there were enough beds and the pool itself was perfect. Breakfast was good too. Our flight wasn’t until late evening, and there was nowhere to change apart from the hotel WC. There also wasn’t a shower facility, which wasn’t great.

The rooms were lovely and the hotel is in a great spot. The staff were really friendly, especially JUAN at the bar. He was juggling bar service, looking after diners and room service, and still made time to chat. I ended up staying in the bar longer than I normally would. He needs another person there to help him.
