We paid 75 euros for a double room, with breakfast included, so it felt like good value. The next morning we really enjoyed breakfast in the rooftop restaurant. The room was a decent size and had air conditioning, which I haven't found everywhere in Spain. The hotel is in a charming spot in the middle of Almunecar's old town, among traditional buildings and narrow pedestrian lanes.

The rooftop restaurant on the third floor has a gorgeous terrace view, and the set menu is €10 at lunch and €16 for dinner. The chef's slow-cooked dishes are healthy and full of flavour. The rooms are huge, including the bathroom, which was bigger than many hotel rooms I've stayed in. I had a lot of luggage, and Oscar at reception brought my car to the door, unloaded everything, and carried it up to my room. Superb service.

What a great find. The rooftop terrace staff deserve a special mention for being so friendly, and the food there was delicious. Everyone was kind to us, and the hotel was really comfortable. Such a lovely place to spend time.
