The pool and spa cost quite a lot, and I expected them to be included. Even so, it’s a great hotel overall, ideally placed beside the pistes and ski rental shops, and also good for hiking. There’s a big lobby and a moderate-sized bar. Breakfast was plentiful, though the buffet area was crowded. A few breakfast choices had to be ordered from the kitchen, which meant more queues and waiting, but they came out fresh.

The room looked stunning, with amazing views, and the bed and pillows were good. The hotel is next to the slopes, but getting to the station without a car was difficult. Staff around the hotel were lovely, though reception was short staffed and waits could get long. Breakfast was okay, but dinner wasn’t at the level you’d expect from this type of hotel. The heating was hard to control, so I slept with the window open. There was also an LED strip that wouldn’t turn off using the main controls, so I had to unplug it from behind a shelf. It was a good stay, but some basic functions fell short.

The location was perfect for our ski trip, and we had a nice view. We stayed five nights with breakfast and dinner each day. The food wasn’t bad, but it didn’t meet the standard we expected. At breakfast, eggs and bacon had to be ordered, and the service was inconsistent: sometimes they brought the food to our table, other times they called our room and made us get up to collect it. The room cleaning issue really spoiled the stay. We had the do not disturb sign on the door, but staff still entered. The first time we noticed, we weren’t in the room, and I spoke to the housekeeper so they’d respect the sign. The second time someone knocked, apparently by mistake, even though we were resting and the sign was up. The third time they simply walked in while I was getting dressed. I went to the front desk, but it seemed to be the first time a guest had used a DND sign, and I had to explain that it meant I did not want to be disturbed. I hope they train the team to handle this properly.

The safety issues were alarming: the fire doors had broken hinges and wouldn’t close in a fire, and a load of ice was hanging over the entrance where it could have fallen on people. Nobody seemed concerned. The spa was cold, cost extra, and sessions lasted just 45 minutes. Our towels were left on the floor, but cleaners just hung them loosely back up. Rooms lacked basics like a coffee maker and toilet brush. The hotel was severely understaffed, and breakfast and dinner felt more like a refugee food aid distribution point than a four-star hotel. Please stay somewhere else.
