Alex was a fantastic host, and we slept really well in the comfortable beds. The dinner was the best meal we had during our 140km Camino. We stayed on our last night before reaching Santiago, and it worked out brilliantly. If you're splitting up the Padron to Santiago walk, the extra 300m is worth it.

Most of the guests are walking the Camino, and the shared dinners make it easy to trade stories from the road. Javier, the owner, is a seasoned hotelier with thoughtful recommendations. Ask him about food: he pointed me to authentic hidden gems near the village and in Santiago de Compostela, beyond the places I'd already found on prestigious lists, and at a fraction of the price. The hotel is tucked away in Raices, about a 10-minute drive from downtown Santiago de Compostela and right on the Camino de Santiago. It's simple, clean, and unpretentious, with a real sense of community and great value. The five stars are for this kind of accommodation, so don't expect luxury. I'd stay again.

After a day walking the Camino, it was great to relax by the pool on the deck. The rooms were comfortable, and the staff were really friendly. You can opt in to the dinner menu, which was delicious and probably our best meal on the Camino. Highly recommend this place right off the Camino.

Our rooms had been cancelled and given to another party when we arrived on the Camino. We had to take a taxi to a different hotel. Awful, avoid at all costs.
