Maria serves a wonderful breakfast for a little extra, and the pool was spotless and well maintained. After sightseeing in the morning, we could come back around 14.00 for a siesta, a refreshing swim, or time on the terrace. The cozy garden, with romantic views of the neighboring chapel, was a lovely place to slow down and disconnect. Casa Rural Rectoral Priorato de San Martín is an old priory transformed by Maria, an interior designer and Master of Arts, into a beautiful retreat. The rooms are modern, clean, and tastefully decorated. If you want to visit Santiago but stay outside the busy city centre, this medieval, contemplative, romantic place is one you shouldn't miss.

There are only a few bedrooms, so it felt private, almost like we had the whole house to ourselves. The Galician countryside setting was incredibly peaceful, while Santiago de Compostela and the coast of A Coruña were still very close. María and her family were attentive to our questions and requests, and made us feel like guests, not just regular visitors. It's a charming historic place, with tastefully decorated rooms and common areas, plus a porch and swimming pool for relaxing. I'd come back without hesitation.

The owner is charming and super friendly, and the decor is exquisite. It's an incredible place with loads of character and good taste, somewhere you could spend several days enjoying all the surrounding area has to offer.

A former monks' residence turned into a dream country house. María brings impeccable taste and kindness, while Manuel serves Galician home cooking in the dining room. You can relax in the garden by the pool or settle into one of the rooms. Asian luxury.
