Elba Carlota Beach & Golf Resort

This stay at Elba Carlota hotel wasn't enjoyable for me. The location is good, but it didn't feel like a four-star place, more like three stars at best. I paid for a ‘sea side view room’ and could barely see the sea, since most of the view was other rooms and balconies. The food was very standard and basic. There was a good selection, but nothing special. The other hotel staff were fine, though not especially welcoming or friendly, while the bartenders were delightful. Dan from the animation team seemed like the only genuine person there. People keep praising the animation team, but we only interacted with two members. Ismail kept asking me for cigarettes and making racist remarks about his work colleagues, which my partner and I didn't appreciate. At one point he tried to make a joke out of me with some newly found friends at the hotel, which I also didn't appreciate. Our neighbours and their children ran around and screamed every morning at 8AM, with no consideration at all. I've stayed in hundreds of hotels, and I won't return to this one. There are better hotels in Fuerteventura, and Caleta is very dead and boring. I'd be better off finding somewhere in Corralejo or Jandía.

The food and drinks were a real highlight during our eight-day all-inclusive stay. We especially enjoyed the huge range of fish and the seafood served every day, and for the first time we had very tasty non-alcoholic cocktails. Breakfast, though, was more than standard. Staff were friendly and served us with a smile. We arrived at 12:30 and were given a nice room with a large balcony right away. The man at reception was very friendly and made sure my requests about the room were met. The hotel also surprised me with a bottle of champagne on my birthday. There were some downsides: pigeons and small ants, and the hotel definitely isn't new. Most of the guests were pensioners. When the wind is strong, even the heated pool feels cold.

The pool areas were beautiful, and all the thoughtful details around the hotel made the holiday feel special. Everything was well organized, and the staff were attentive and professional throughout. The entertainment team brought a lot of energy each day. Their shows were fun to watch, and the performances impressed us. Giorgia deserves a special mention. Her talent, professionalism and stage presence made every show even more enjoyable. Congratulations to the whole team for their great work.

The waiters and waitresses worked so hard, keeping tables clean, making sure people had drinks, setting tables and turning them around quickly. They did a really good job. And a big thank you to Gonçalo, Lucas and Riyana. They're incredible at what they do and a real credit to the hotel. Those three made our holiday. The entertainment team as a whole were so friendly, welcoming and hardworking, and they got everyone involved. There was always something going on, and they made every activity fun. We're not morning people, but we still set alarms so we could get up and join in. We had such a good holiday here and would definitely come again. I'd 100% recommend it to anyone!
