The apartment was the worst place I've ever stayed. It was dated, tatty and not very clean. The sofa was so filthy that they had to put blankets over it for us to sit down, and the kettle was rusty. Some apartments had been renovated, but many hadn't. We complained and were offered another apartment, but it was smaller and worse. The pool area was clean and well maintained, and the bed was comfortable with clean bedding. Reception staff and cleaners were polite and friendly.

We had two bungalows as a family of 6, one refurbished and one not. The refurbished one was fine for the price, except the twin beds were very uncomfortable. It did have good air con. The two-bedroom bungalow had bathroom mold and a bad smell, no air con, and was constantly roasting. On arrival, we got a letter saying rooms are cleaned only after your first 5 days. We had to keep asking for clean towels, and it felt like asking for blood. When they finally cleaned the room on day 8, the lady did a great job and it was spotless, but the sheets weren't changed in either room during the whole 11 days. The complex itself looked run down and unkempt, though the pool was salt water. Reception was open only from 10-6. As they say, you get what you pay for. If you book, I'd ask for a refurbished room. We're used to Beach Club, and this is 2 mins from there. I had a few other issues, but they were down to my personal opinion about things that happened while we were there.

For the price, you can't go wrong. We usually stay at Beach Club, which is 2 mins away, and really liked this place. The rooms are dated but have everything you need. I have mobility problems, and the walk-in shower made it ideal for me. The pool area was spotless. It's a short walk to bars and restaurants, with laundry on site, a British mini-market and a supermarket. Our favourite, zanzibar, and plenty of other places for a great holiday are right on the doorstep. We were there in November and have already booked for next year.

The cottage we were given was shockingly bad. Dirty doesn't begin to describe it. The bathroom was dilapidated and smelled of sewage, with clumps of hair stuck to the shower tray. The shower hose and mirror were corroded. The twin beds were pushed together; the old yellow pillows were lumpy squares of foam, and the thin mattresses had no support or springs left. There seemed to be no base under the bed frame. The light switch came off the wall when I turned it on. The floor was filthy, with cobwebs throughout and spiders in every corner. The wardrobes were clean, though very dated. The kitchen-diner sofa was disgustingly dirty, ripped and frayed, with cobwebs around and under it and no support left. We didn't use the old-looking kitchen, as the Delph and cutlery were filthy. The reception area was dusty and dirty, like it hadn't been cleaned for a long time. A couple ahead of us asked to change rooms because they weren't happy and were told no. We were in no 93 and our daughter was in 101. Between our cottage and hers there was a storage area like an underground room, with a large hole covered by plywood used as a door. The plywood had fallen off and was left on the ground, which seemed very dangerous for children. Around the complex, paths were broken, the ground uneven, and there were cigarette butts and dirty empty bottles. The place looked completely unkempt, with a burnt-out stage left to rot. We've travelled extensively and stayed in plenty of budget accommodation, but this was horrifically disgusting, unlike anything we've seen. We spent the night on the patio, then found another hotel and checked out.

There's plenty of shops and restaurants a stone's throw from these lovely apartments. Walk down the hill to Caleta d Fuste, a little gem of a town with lots of entertainment, bars and restaurants.
