The house itself was fine, and we had the place to ourselves as a family for a week. It’s a pretty, quiet spot, but it needs more attention. One bathroom smelled awful all day and night. A fridge kept making noise that carried up to the bedrooms, which are on the upper level, and made it really hard to sleep. Its door was fitted backwards, so you had to crawl under the stairs to open it. Outside, the pool water was so cloudy they had to call someone to filter it. The gardens also need a major redesign and some serious work.

The owner was very friendly, and the area was so peaceful. We had a fantastic weekend with friends, even though the house could use more maintenance. The gardens could be better looked after, and several things inside were broken.

The house has a lot of history and real charm. We loved the spectacular outdoor spaces and the stunning views. Arafo is a lovely place to enjoy some peace and get away from the hustle and bustle for a few days.
