Almohalla 51

We loved the pool area, and breakfast was delicious and made with care. We stayed for two nights and were the only guests, so it felt like having a private villa. The owners were very welcoming, with thoughtful extras like afternoon cake and tea or coffee, plus cold water and ice by the pool. Our room was spacious, the bed was comfortable, the shower was good, and there was even a bathtub. Good fans were provided, though I did miss having air conditioning at night because it was very hot during our stay. Ken gave us useful tips for restaurants and activities, including the fun experience of buying cookies from the nuns at the local monastery.

Jo and Ken made us feel like part of the family for the whole holiday. The hotel and its setting were beautiful, and breakfast was lovely. There was plenty of fruit in the mornings, and my husband really enjoyed the Spanish breakfast. Wonderful hosts and a great holiday. We can't wait to come back next year x

We spent five nights here and would gladly have stayed longer. The town is small, but there are plenty of restaurants, and Jo's home cooking is absolutely delicious. It's a lovely place to wander, stop for a drink, or head out for a longer walk. The path up the hill behind the hotel is worth the climb, and there are plenty of places to explore within about an hour's drive. We loved the sunny terrace and the log burner when it got chilly. The rooms were all lovely, and we appreciated the care taken to find the one that suited us. Comfortable rooms, delicious food, expertly mixed cocktails, a great location and friendly, helpful hosts. By the end, we felt like we were staying with friends, except these friends look after you and don't expect you to do the washing up! We can't wait to come back, hopefully very soon.

I came in early March and had such a lovely stay at Almohalla 51, tucked away in the quiet streets of Archidona. It was peaceful, with gorgeous weather and incredible food. My room was quaint, full of character, and a lovely place to unwind at the end of the day. The terrace and pool were perfect for relaxing and watching the sun go down. Jo and Ken were wonderful hosts who went out of their way to make my stay special. Their attention to detail was second to none. Breakfast was delicious, especially the homemade granola, and their restaurant suggestions and advice on day trips were spot on. Thank you both for an unforgettable stay. I'll definitely be back!
