Hotel Prada a Tope - Palacio de Canedo

Mr. Prada makes guests feel welcome with his friendly, lively manner and his enthusiasm for sharing the history and character of Palloza do Canedo. The food was hearty, thoughtfully prepared, and full of traditional flavor, with each meal giving us a taste of the region. Set in a peaceful little town amid beautiful scenery, it's a lovely place to slow down and enjoy the local culture.

The bodega is well worth a look. Along with the wines, we liked the summer Limonada, the funky Xampada, and their homemade Biermut version of Vermut. The range of homemade fruit and vegetable conservas is also delicious. We found the rooms stylish and spotless, with rustic, classy interiors, and the staff were so friendly and willing to help. The whole experience at Canedo Palace feels carefully put together, right down to the smallest details. We also got to meet the owner, who's still around working on the estate and is a real legend. One of our favorite hotels and wine tourism places in Europe, and we can't recommend it enough.

The place has such a peaceful feel, and the staff were nice. We stopped in for afternoon tea and tried both hot and cold chocolate drinks. The hot chocolate was the thickest and purest I've ever had, and the price was surprisingly low. We also had a traditional Spanish dessert or pastry, which was unusual and tasty. I'd love to come back for a proper meal, or maybe spend a night in their accommodation.

I didn't stay overnight, but the place was a huge surprise. It's an old mansion that's been completely remodeled, with care put into every detail. The business has a wide range of offerings, from rooms and catering to its own food products, merchandise, a restaurant, and a cafeteria. The food and wine were great too.
