Breakfast felt more like a feast in the Catalan-style courtyard, with fresh orange juice, bakery toast, local cheese and cold cuts, Norman's carrot cake, jam, and coffee with oat milk. Norman and Paloma even offered us the leftovers to take along. We walked from the house to the cabins in Garrell's forest in about 15 minutes. It's a lovely outing for kids and adults alike. Our room had a tall, thick mattress over 20 cm, crisp white sheets, an extra pillow, and a large bottle of locally collected water. The windows had mosquito nets, and we woke to birds outside as the sun came up. The shower was step-free, with strong pressure and nicely hot water. The place is quiet, cozy, and feels like a special little secret for discovering Alta Garrotxa. It's close to the main road but still set in a peaceful area. Norman and Paloma gave us such a warm, enthusiastic welcome in the bright living room, with its big wooden table and distinctive authentic red chairs. We'll definitely be back soon. The breakfast was delicious, and Norman and Paula looked after us really well. Les Magranes is a small family-run place with a clean, quiet, well-kept room. Its location works well for hiking and is very close to Olot.

We had a wonderful few days here and could really switch off. The breakfast was unbeatable: local cured meats, bread from the Argelaguer bakery, and a carrot cake that's hard to forget, easily the best we've tasted. Norman and Paloma were lovely hosts, always there to make our stay even cozier if they could. The location is great for mountain walks and exploring the charms of villages we miss seeing these days. Algelaguer has a character all its own, one that stays in your memory. We hope we can return. It was a pleasure.
