We were a week into our ten-day stay, and I’d chosen this place for its quiet spot by the golf course, with easy access to Los Christianos and playa las Americas. I’ve stayed around this area plenty over the years, though this was my first time in these apartments. Ours was a roomy two-bedroom place with a big lounge and hall, a separate large kitchen, two generous bedrooms, one ensuite, and a decent corner balcony. The bathroom tiles looked dated, but the rest felt modern. The pool had a chilled atmosphere, and the maid service was as good as I’ve seen. We had to get up early to claim sunbeds for the first few days, but after that there were usually some available. Insects weren’t much of an issue, just a few flies. No inflatables are allowed in the pool. The gardener was also really nice, always smiling and chatting with both adults and kids. Later in the week, there were fewer families and more younger guests. They weren’t especially rowdy, but noise right below our bedroom window did keep us awake. We also tried the restaurant one evening and found a lot of small flies in one Canarian cocktail. A waiter put down a napkin with chewing gum rolled up on it, which put us off by the time the food arrived. I’d still stay again if the price was right.

The pool was decent, the staff were nice, and the big supermarket across the road came in handy. It was quiet at night, which we liked about being a little away from the main areas. We could walk to paddy o kellys bar or the hard rock in about ten minutes, and a taxi back at night cost us no more than 5 euros. The ceiling fans did an OK job most of the time, but air conditioning would make the hotel a lot better. I’d consider coming back if I found a good price.

The first thing we noticed on arrival was how flimsy the back door locks seemed, offering little to no security. Pool supervision was worrying too. The lifeguards seemed more interested in their phones than watching the water, and one of our family members had to jump in to help save a child. Afterward, the lifeguards said children couldn’t use flotation aids, which was shocking given how inattentive and unprofessional they had been. There were about 40 of us in the party. On the one night we all went out together, my room was targeted and thousands of pounds' worth of belongings were stolen. The hotel advertises a 24-hour staffed reception, but it was unmanned then, and the security guard wasn’t watching the cameras. If he had been, he would have seen a masked person scaling the wall with a crowbar. When we reported the robbery, we were told there hadn’t been one in 15 years. That turned out not to be true: passengers on our return flight said hundreds of euros had been stolen from the same hotel the week before. The guard also said he couldn’t call the police because he had “no jurisdiction.” Yet the previous night, children had been told to quiet down or the police would be called. That’s a clear contradiction. Our room was sealed off, but no other accommodation was provided. If our large family group hadn’t been there, we wouldn’t have had a bed. Nobody from staff came to apologize or offer support the next day, and we had to tell the cleaners ourselves not to enter the room. Neither jet 2 nor the police came to see us, despite assurances they would. We spent the whole last day in limbo, and it ruined our holiday. It was an extremely stressful and disappointing experience. With the lack of security, poor safety standards, and the way a serious incident was handled, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

We’ve been very happy with what we paid. The loft apartment felt modern and worked fine for us, despite my initial worries. Opening the velux window let in some air, and there’s a large shared sun terrace just outside with a table, chairs, padded day beds, and extra loungers, which made up for not having a balcony. The pool area catches the sun, with plenty of loungers and free padded day beds, and the pool is heated. It’s a bit of a walk to the main strip, though tidy bars and breakfast spots are about ten minutes away.

We found it great value, and the pool was lovely with really welcoming service. The rooms are nice, and the hotel is incredibly clean and quiet. Being a little outside the centre also means there aren’t drunken singers at 4am. We love this place.
