Spring Hotel Vulcano

Breakfast was incredible, and it ran until 12, so there was no rush in the morning. We also never had to compete for a poolside lounger, there was always space. The pool activities were a highlight, especially the gentleman running bingo, archery and rifle shooting. We loved our stay. The reception area is stunning, our room was clean and well kept, and the staff were so friendly. The location worked really well, near shops, bars, restaurants and the beachfront. Such a lovely hotel.

We came for five nights in May for our ‘baby moon’ and would happily return. The hotel and room were clean and the staff were brilliant. For the two hottest days, we upgraded to the UP terrace. It was beautiful, with great loungers, views, pools, drinks and snacks. It’s only about a seven minute walk to the golden mile, with loads of restaurants and bars if you want some atmosphere. The airport is around 30 minutes away.

The location is super central, and the free airport transfer for our seven-night stay was a great bonus. We had a bit of noise from building work, but it didn’t bother us much. The spa staff were lovely, and the gym was really good. Around the pool there were always plenty of loungers, so no early wake-up to save one, and one pool is heated. It felt luxurious and we really enjoyed staying here. Breakfast was so good, with loads of options, including proper English bacon. There were three adults in our group and our room was really spacious, with an extra area and plenty of storage. We felt lucky to get it. Would stay again.

The six-course private dining was outstanding. I loved every course of the “Eat & Fit” menu. The pumpkin cream soup with crispy shrimp was rich and comforting, and my favourite was the fresh, vibrant mini salad with goats cheese, guava and candied walnuts. The spiced cod with colourful salsa and saffron sauce was cooked just right. After a palate-cleansing mango sorbet came succulent beef ravioli with creamy canary mash, then a beautiful, sweet and fruity pistachio ingot with a crumble base. All delicious, with generous portions on stunning plates. Great to see MSC-certified sustainable seafood used, too. We had the Hotel Vulcano exclusive UP experience: a private rooftop, an adults-only sun terrace by day with amazing views, an endless pool, jacuzzi, and all-inclusive service, followed by the tasting menu at night. The setting was elegant and the service warm. Special mention to our polite and attentive waiter Pedro, serving an amazing meal from top Chef Louis, with Manager Sebastian supporting. Highly recommended, and I can’t wait to go back!
