The bathrooms could use better lighting, and I found the double room where the bed is against the wall uncomfortable. Still, the house and its surroundings are lovely. We stayed three nights, and the awkward access road seemed like part of the trade-off for the peace, quiet, and views. They’d also thought of useful things like a crib and baby bathtub.

The landscape was breathtaking, and I loved seeing the cows, eagles, and birds around us. The owners were absolutely charming, too. I spent six wonderful days in this beautiful, welcoming house and didn’t want to leave. Thank you, José, for showing me how to tell a peach tree from an almond tree and for teaching me about the different aromatic plants. It was a real pleasure.

The views were beautiful, and the location made it easy to visit lots of lovely villages and places in Cantabria. We spent Easter weekend there with friends and were delighted with the house, which had everything we needed. Jose was extremely friendly and always available to help with anything. It made for a perfect Easter. Thanks so much, Jose, for everything.

The exterior and the views are the best parts. The house is spacious, but we found it uncomfortable for our group of six adults, especially since the third bedroom has bunk beds. Watch out for the stairs to the second floor, you have to crawl up them, and they felt very dangerous. The fireplace is locked, so it can’t be used. There are enough kitchen utensils, but the coffee maker needs replacing and isn’t suitable for induction hobs.
