Dani made the visit both fun and full of interesting information. After the tour, we could wander around the grounds and take plenty of photos, and there were banana-flavoured drinks and snacks to try. The gift shop was expensive, though. We later saw the same things in Las Palmas for half the price. Still, I’d recommend the tour.

There’s plenty to do after the tour: look around the farm, take photos, visit the small museum, sit in the garden, or browse the shop. John was a fantastic guide, really knowledgeable and made everything interesting and fun. The tasting at the end was a lovely extra. A unique, beautiful visit that I’d happily recommend.

The farm is near Palma, and I’d definitely suggest a visit. I’d never seen bananas growing on a tree before, and the flowers were beautiful. I also learned where else they grow and how they’re cultivated. There’s a small souvenir shop. I think there’s a tour fee, but we somehow walked around with the group by accident, so we bought souvenirs to make up for it! 🫣😬😂

The guide was pleasant, though I’m sorry I can’t remember his name. He shared interesting things about banana plant history and how they’re grown. Still, at €15 per person, I didn’t feel the tour was worth the cost. We got crackers with sweet and sour jams or sauces, a sip of wine and liqueur, and learned that fresh bananas are the best banana product. The bananas tasted like ones you can get anywhere, and only the yellow kind was available to try.

I loved being able to stay on the hazienda as long as we wanted after the roughly 25-minute tour, taking photos and enjoying the views over the plantage and ocean. Most of the musuem is outdoors, which suited me. Our guide was funny, lovely, and knew so much about banana production. I was surprised by a lot of what she told us, and the range of plants they grow is fascinating. The tasting at the end, including banana liqueur, was the icing on the cake. It’s a magical place, and I appreciate the plant and fruit more now. I only wish Gran Canaria exported its products to Germany. I definitely recommend visiting and booking the tour.
