La Anunciada

The windows did a good job of keeping out much of the Friday night party noise. Other Camino pilgrims staying at hotels could hear the street noise, but I didn’t have that problem. My room was clean, though small. I’m fine with a small room for one night when the location is central, and this one was close to everything.

The location in central Baiona made it easy to stroll around and explore. We arrived by bicycle late in the afternoon without a booking, and the woman at reception was kind and efficient. We were soon in a very quiet room on the third floor, and our bikes were safely stored next door. The bedrooms and bathrooms were clean and comfortable, with everything we needed. The ground-floor cafe bar was busy with walkers at 7:30 am, but the staff were super speedy, helpful and fun, and the atmosphere was great. Just great, recommended!

The slender young man was running his tale off while serving people at the bar. The pot-bellied bartender was a BIG disappointment.

Hotel Anunciada in Baiona has a great waterfront location, and our room was clean and comfortable, with a small balcony and comfortable beds. Breakfast, though, was poor and chaotic. It was the only hotel where there were few or no choices, and the server rushed through taking our order. We got coffee, juice, bread and more bread. They had croissants, which my husband asked for, but instead we both got a ham and cheese sandwich and another piece of dried toast.
