Hostal Palafox

I still remember the three weeks I spent working in Barbastro and staying at Hostal Palafox. The service was great, and I had good chats with Luis every night. If you play trombone, there’s even a rehearsal room in the basement that’s perfect for practicing! 🤣🤣

For an overnight stay, this hostel is just right: clean, with a comfortable mattress and good value for money. Luis gave excellent service when I arrived, and they have parking for motorcycles too. I’d book directly with them to get a better price.

Barbastro is very pretty, and the hotel’s central spot made it easy to explore on foot. We stayed with friends for a weekend and had a good experience. The rooms are ordinary and a bit old, but clean, and we slept well. There’s a shower rather than a tub, and they leave little shampoo and body wash gifts. The price was good: the room was €60, and for €10 more for both of us, we got breakfast, making the total €70. The dining room is quirky and fun, with unusual colors, cheeky drawings, and a cool collection of Star Wars, Game of Thrones, and older geeky things. Breakfast was really good, though it isn’t a buffet. We had juice and coffee, three slices of toast, a croissant, and a choice of sweet or savory toppings like jam, tomato, pâté, and spreadable cheese. It’s a simple hotel that works well for a weekend getaway and a comfortable night’s sleep. I recommend it.

The Game of Thrones decor is the best! The hostel is close to everything in Barbastro, and the rooms have a fridge with a shared kitchen available. Luis, the owner, is wonderful, so kind and hospitable. The other receptionist and the cleaning lady were lovely, friendly, and hardworking too. I’d definitely stay again.
