After Hostel

For 12 euros a night, you get a good bed, a metal locker with keys, decent WiFi, and a kitchen with stoves, fridges, and dishes available from morning till night. There's also a lounge with sofas, a TV, and a computer if you don't have your own, plus showers and a toilet. Basically, it's got what you need for a comfortable night and a wake-up call. I think this is a perfect place for newly arrived travelers to stay a couple of days, see Barcelona on a budget, and take a million selfies or something. The best bit is that Europe's top coffee shop, Hemp Quarters Barcelona, or HQ Barcelona, is literally across the street from Enric Granados, behind the metal doors. Though you need to know someone there to get a job. I actually managed it.

I booked in February 2017 for a stay in August, paid the booking fee, and got a confirmation without any trouble, despite the hostel having been closed for months. The hostel had apparently been shut for almost a year. When I arrived, nobody was there, and no one answered the phone. No one had told me it was closed. I think it's fair to call this a scam. Don't book here under any circumstances.

It's good value for money and a comfortable place to spend a couple of nights, even if it has fewer amenities than some other places in the city. The internet connection is excellent in the living room, but it doesn't reach the bedrooms farther from the router. That needs fixing.

Had a really pleasant stay at this hotel/guesthouse. The bunk beds and shared areas were clean.
