Ainb Born-damas Apartments

There were cockroaches in the apartment. We complained and waited two nights before they offered us another one in a different location, Appartments in Barcelona Picasso-Corders. Both apartments were much smaller than the 30m2 stated in the ad. It also claimed there was a balcony, but neither apartment had one. They gave us some options, then finally asked Booking to refund half a night's price for two nights, even though we stayed for five nights without a balcony. Way too much hassle for a one-week holiday.

The apartment itself was decent. I made the mistake of forgetting to pay the city tax, and they wouldn't let me in. I was disappointed they blocked access over €10, even though I told them I had no problem paying the bill.

The host was horrible from day one and wouldn't answer any of the numbers listed online. This place, AinB born Damas1, is down a very scary side lane in Barcelona. The city itself is beautiful, but I would never recommend this area. During checkout, they blocked the lift at 11am, which was my checkout time, because people were cleaning it for maintenance. I got stuck there for an hour despite asking repeatedly for help. I thought about calling the police, but luckily the helpline number worked. I nearly missed my flight and had to walk down all five floors. I've never had such a terrible and frightening experience anywhere I've travelled. I wouldn't come here even if it were free.

They didn't even give us a key to get into the apartment. We were mugged right outside while trying to enter, and this location feels very dangerous. Don't go out at night. The host hasn't responded to us at all. I wouldn't recommend this place.
