Hotel Andante Drassanes

The view from the pool was beautiful, and the hotel’s location was very good. Still, for that much money, the service was poor enough that I’d suggest looking at other hotels. We asked for housekeeping in the morning before heading out, and the staff wrote down our room number. When we got back around 8:00 PM, the room hadn’t been cleaned. Before going out again, we stopped at the desk and explained that we at least wanted the trash taken out. We’d already found a roach in the room, showed the receptionist a photo, and didn’t really need fresh sheets or towels at that point. She said there was nothing she could do because housekeeping had gone home, without apologizing or acknowledging the problem. I politely offered to take the trash out myself and asked for a large bag. She told me not to worry and said she’d handle it. I was happy with that, since it was the main thing I cared about then. But when we came back at around 10:30 PM, the trash was still in the room, untouched. Reassuring guests that you’ll take care of something and then doing nothing makes no sense. I stayed respectful the whole time. If she’d simply given me a trash bag when I first asked, I promise I wouldn’t be writing this review.

The rooftop pool was the highlight for us, with stunning views over the city. The hotel was spotless, the rooms were a good size, and all the staff were really friendly. It’s also well located, with most places nearby and a taxi rank outside for anywhere farther away. We felt safe here and would absolutely recommend it.

We really enjoyed the rooftop terrace, which looks out across the whole city. Breakfast costs extra, but we thought it was well worth it: lots of fresh choices and a relaxing place to sit. The bedrooms were clean and spacious, the internet was fast, and the hotel is close to central Barcelona. It’s also near the cruise terminal, within walking distance of the port, and very close to the tourist area of ramblas. A superb environmentally friendly hotel.

The rooms are on the small side, but comfortable, and the location is central, within walking distance of la Rambla. We found the staff very friendly and helpful, and breakfast was great. Our room had two twin beds pushed together, which worked well for my spouse and me because we could arrange the sheets and blanket the way we each liked. I was able to keep them that way all night. A great place to stay in Barcelona.
