Apartments Hostemplo Suites

We really liked the location, near Sagrada Familia but on a quiet street. The place was spacious for three and had a small kitchen and balcony. The church and Metro were a five-minute walk away. I enjoyed breakfast, though it starting at 7:45 felt a bit late. Recommended 👍🏻

The kitchen had everything we needed, even cleaning supplies, and the apartment was clean when we arrived. Reception staff were kind, and the central location worked well for us. It’s beside a school and a busy road, so it can get loud during the day. We didn’t mind, and the windows blocked the noise well whenever we wanted quiet. We loved our stay and had no complaints.

The room was tidy and comfortable, and the desk staff dealt with our questions straight away. Breakfast was amazing, so definitely choose the option that includes it when booking. The office and room being in separate buildings across the street seemed unusual at first, but it caused us no trouble. The place is only a block from La Sagrada Familia. We’ll stay here again whenever we’re in Barcelona.

The location and value were great, and the staff were lovely. Still, I travel solo a lot and wouldn’t stay here again: not being able to lock the apartment from inside made me feel very unsafe. The cleaner came in without warning at 9:45 a.m. and hit me with the door while I was checking what was happening. Checkout was 11:30, and the front desk had told us the night before we could stay until noon. The cleaner came back at 11:15, opened the doors without knocking again, and told us to leave. I asked for five minutes in my poor Spanish. There are three doors to get through, so I’d thought only staff could enter, but I didn’t feel comfortable sleeping with my AirPods in either, since I couldn’t lock the door inside. There was no soundproofing. We could hear everything, from cleaners moving furniture to kids screaming, and it affected our sleep. In the double room, the lamp flickered and looked really worn, so I unplugged it to use the only outlet near the bed for something else. One room’s TV didn’t work, but maintenance fixed it the next day. The twin bed frame was a little broken, though the rooms were nice and the beds were on the softer, memory foam side. The apartment looked like the photos. They provided bathroom amenities, slippers, and extra towels, which was helpful since I’d forgotten my toothbrush. The kitchen also had a few welcome items, including coffee pods, tea bags, and olive oil. The front desk was very helpful and stored our bags at check-in and checkout, but when we collected them they handed us someone else’s bag. We pointed it out, though it left me unsure how secure the luggage storage is if it depends on other guests being honest. The first day’s breakfast was a nice touch, but I wouldn’t pay for it. It was a pleasant start to the day until water leaked through the glass roof at the back of the room, landing on my breakfast and coffee. I had to get another plate. If you’re mostly out and want a cheaper place, it’s fine. If you need rest and to feel secure, it probably isn’t for you.
