Aspasios Plaza Real Apartments

The only real plus was how close it was to Las Ramblas, bars, and restaurants. We’ve spent six weeks traveling around Europe in May and June 2025, staying in several Airbnbs, and this was easily the dingiest place. It was dirty and didn’t feel luxurious like the bright, pretty website photos suggested. The floors and shower needed a deep clean. Bugs crawled out from under the bed and couch, and on our last days we killed a cockroach and found three dead ones behind the ironing board in the laundry area. The building entrance is at the start of a narrow street or alley, right beside the spot where nearby businesses and homes leave trash bags for pickup all day. One day, someone who appeared to be unhoused emptied every bag and went through the trash for hours. We had to step around and kick rubbish aside several times while coming and going. Find somewhere else.

The bedding was super comfortable, and the apartment had everything we needed. We used Liceu metro stop on the green line S2, just a short walk away, and the location is central to everything. Pubs across the road can make it a little loud until midnight, though the double insulated doors help. A fabulous spot.

We stayed in the studio as two adults and two teenagers, and there was still enough room to get around. The washer and kitchen were fully equipped, so making a simple breakfast was easy. It’s on busy streets in the middle of la ramblas, but quiet inside the rooms, and just a short walk to la baqueria market. Recommended.

Jesus was helpful and knew the area well, and both check-in and check-out were easy. The apartment was more spacious, modern, and clean than we expected, and it was a great fit for my wife and me. Just off La Rambla in the Gothic Quarter, it was easy to walk around and enjoy Barcelona. We’d definitely stay again.
